Herbal preparations from the monastery pharmacy
Ointments, oils, drops and bitters. Whatever is not drunk as tea belongs here: preparations in which herbs are steeped, macerated or set in a fatty base, each to one of Ašič's recipes.

Why not only tea
Some herbs give nothing to boiling water. St John's wort releases its own only after weeks steeping in oil, comfrey is traditionally used in an ointment, and bitters are extracts in which the ratio matters more than the quantity.
That is why the pharmacy keeps this shelf alongside the teas. Every product lists its composition with Latin names, its net content and its instructions for use, exactly as printed on the pack.
Ointments and oils are for external use. If redness or itching appears, stop using them; on open wounds and inflamed skin, ask a doctor first.
