Spring in the monastery garden

The first leaves are the strongest.

Nettle, dandelion and birch come up first. Folk tradition made them the spring cleanse; here they are the blend we drink until the end of May.

Summer, the gathering season

Picked in its own season.

Chamomile, marigold and lime flower one after another, each for a few weeks. What we dry in summer, we drink all year.

Ašič’s recipes since 1941

From the monastery, not from a factory.

The Father Simon Ašič Herbal Pharmacy works inside the Cistercian Abbey of Stična. The recipes are the original ones, the herbs grow in the monastery garden, and the pharmacist is there on the telephone.

  • I rang and said what was troubling me. The pharmacist took her time and explained which tea to take and how to make it. You get that kind of service nowhere else.

    Andrej P. June 2026
  • My mother and I were at the tea room in Stična. We bought a bitters and two teas, and had a look at the garden too. We go back every spring.
