Comfrey Ointment

The comfrey ointment is a cosmetic product with an extract of comfrey root (Symphytum officinale) in a fatty base, made to the recipe of Father Simon Ašič. Comfrey is among his best known preparations, and this is the most ordered ointment in the collection. It is meant for the care of dry, parched and stressed skin: it nourishes, moisturises and leaves the skin feeling smooth. In folk tradition comfrey is used externally, rubbed into the skin over joints and muscles after exertion and where the joint of the big toe is deformed. It is not applied to broken skin and is not for prolonged daily use over large areas. A cosmetic product for external use, 50 ml, made at Stična. Apply a thin layer to clean, unbroken skin and massage in gently.
