Herbs for the spring cleanse

The blends traditionally drunk in spring, alongside a change of diet. The word cleanse is a folk one, from Ašič's day; the body has a liver and kidneys for that, and tea does not stand in for them.

The Ašič approach

Which herbs, and why

The base is nettle, dandelion, yarrow and ribwort plantain: plants traditionally gathered in spring and used at that time of year.

Because this is the group with the most extravagant promises, we keep to what the recipe says: what the blend is made of and how it is traditionally drunk.

How to use them

Practical, no promises

These blends are traditionally drunk for a few weeks in spring, alongside more water and lighter food.

The product is no substitute for a varied, balanced diet and a healthy way of life. No blend detoxifies anything; the liver and the kidneys do that.

Frequently asked questions

What people ask about Spring cleanse

Does the tea really detoxify the body?

No. The liver and the kidneys do the detoxifying. These blends were traditionally drunk in spring alongside a change of diet, and that is how we describe them.

When is it traditionally drunk?

In spring, over a few weeks. Father Ašič connected that time of year with the gathering of the first fresh herbs.

Do I need a particular diet while drinking it?

No. Traditionally people ate more lightly and drank more water alongside it, which is probably the greater part of the effect.

How long should I drink it?

For shorter periods, with breaks in between, not continuously.

Can I drink it alongside medicines?

Using the product is no substitute for treatment with prescribed medicines. If you take medicines, ask your doctor or pharmacist before use.

    Fasting and herbs
