UroSIT

UroSIT is a blend of six herbs led by nettle leaf at 30 %, with basil, birch leaf, field horsetail, goldenrod and corn silk alongside it. The corn silk gives the infusion the golden colour by which you know it.

Father Simon Ašič recommended the blend of nettle, birch and horsetail where the bladder and the kidneys were concerned, alongside drinking larger quantities of water; these plants were traditionally used to encourage the passing of water. An infection of the urinary tract calls for a doctor, above all with a fever or pain in the lower back.

Preparation: Pour 3 decilitres of boiling water over two teaspoons of the blend. Leave it covered for 10 minutes, then strain. Drink it freshly made, several times a day, within 2 hours of brewing.

The blend comes in a 50 g bag, which is enough for two to three weeks of daily drinking. The herbs are dried and blended in the Father Simon Ašič Herbal Pharmacy at Stična, to the original recipe, and the composition is set out in per cent below the description. Tea is no substitute for a varied diet or for treatment; in illness, ask a doctor or a pharmacist.
