Description
About this product
The Lenten Tea is a blend of five herbs in which field horsetail and birch leaf share half, with camomile flower, nettle leaf and caraway seed alongside them. The taste is mild and grassy.
Father Simon Ašič recommended it in Lent and during cleansing regimes, when one eats less and drinks more; birch, horsetail and nettle were traditionally used to encourage the elimination of water. Drink enough fluid alongside it; the tea is no substitute for a diet and is not a means of losing weight. It is part of the Spring Clean set.
Preparation: Pour 3 decilitres of boiling water over two teaspoons of the blend. Leave it covered for 10 minutes, then strain. Drink it freshly made, several times a day, within 2 hours of brewing.
The blend comes in a 50 g bag, which is enough for two to three weeks of daily drinking. The herbs are dried and blended in the Father Simon Ašič Herbal Pharmacy at Stična, to the original recipe, and the composition is set out in per cent below the description. Tea is no substitute for a varied diet or for treatment; in illness, ask a doctor or a pharmacist.
