Men's Tea

The Men's Tea is a blend of five herbs: camomile flower at 30 %, heather flower, small-flowered willowherb and field horsetail at 20 % each, and parsley root. Heather and willowherb are ingredients found in no other blend.

Father Simon Ašič recommended the blend to men in later life, where passing water was frequent and the prostate a trouble; folk tradition has long used small-flowered willowherb for that. Prostate trouble calls for an examination by a doctor, and the tea is no substitute for one. Customers most often order it together with the willowherb drops.

Preparation: Pour 3 decilitres of boiling water over two teaspoons of the blend. Leave it covered for 10 minutes, then strain. Drink it freshly made, several times a day, within 2 hours of brewing.

The blend comes in a 50 g bag, which is enough for two to three weeks of daily drinking. The herbs are dried and blended in the Father Simon Ašič Herbal Pharmacy at Stična, to the original recipe, and the composition is set out in per cent below the description. Tea is no substitute for a varied diet or for treatment; in illness, ask a doctor or a pharmacist.
