High blood pressure: the herbal pharmacy's answer

High blood pressure

Customer's question

My blood pressure is slightly raised and I would like to bring it down without medicines. Which tea do you advise?

The pharmacist's answer

We have to answer first what you did not ask: blood pressure medicines are not stopped or reduced without a doctor, even when we feel better.

As for the question itself, no herbal blend is a means of lowering blood pressure, and we must not present one as such. What traditionally belongs in this area are mild herbs for calming and for the blood vessels: hawthorn, lemon balm, mistletoe.

Hawthorn is used in folk tradition for the heart and the blood vessels, lemon balm for restlessness and poor sleep. Both are closely connected with blood pressure, but connected is not the same as medicinal.

Here you will find the blend called PulSIT and Mistletoe Drops.

If you take medicines for the heart or blood pressure, talk to your doctor before drinking these regularly; mistletoe and hawthorn are not innocent in combination with them.

And what works most reliably does not come from a shelf: less salt, more movement, regular measuring.
