Description

About this product

Fir honeydew honey is a forest honey the bees gather from the honeydew on fir. It is dark, thick and strong, with a faintly resinous taste; one spoonful does the work of two. It crystallises more slowly than flower honeys.

Use: to sweeten stronger teas, on bread or with cheese. Its pronounced taste means less of it is needed; add it carefully to a mild tea.

The honey comes from the Kastelic apiary, a few kilometres from Stična; we sell it in the herbal pharmacy because it is what customers most often sweeten Ašič's teas with. The jar holds 900 g. Honey crystallises in time, which is a sign that it is genuine rather than a fault; a short warming in hot water makes it liquid again. Not suitable for children under one year of age.

Use

To sweeten tea, on bread or with cheese. Fir honey is darker and stronger, so less of it is needed.
