Description

About this product

Chestnut honey is a dark brown honey with a pronounced aroma and a faintly bitter finish, which is characteristic of it and not a sign of any fault. It is not a honey for everyone; those who like it buy no other.

Use: to sweeten tea, on bread, or with stronger cheeses and walnuts. In a herbal tea the bitterness of chestnut honey carries the bitter blends well, HepaSIT among them.

The honey comes from the Kastelic apiary, a few kilometres from Stična; we sell it in the herbal pharmacy because it is what customers most often sweeten Ašič's teas with. The jar holds 900 g. Honey crystallises in time, which is a sign that it is genuine rather than a fault; a short warming in hot water makes it liquid again. Not suitable for children under one year of age.

Use

To sweeten tea, on bread or with stronger cheeses. Chestnut honey is markedly aromatic and faintly bitter, which is characteristic of it.
