Cough and sore throat: the herbal pharmacy's answer

Published 1 min read

Cough and sore throat

Customer's question

My throat is scratchy and I am coughing; my doctor says it is an ordinary cold. What can I drink?

The pharmacist's answer

With an ordinary cold, time is the main remedy, and a warm drink is what really eases it, the fluid and the steam more than any ingredient.

For trouble with the airways and a sore throat, marshmallow, plantain and wild thyme are traditionally used. Here they are in Chest Tea, and the blend Nosopret has a soothing effect on the throat, the pharynx and the mouth.

You can also use the tea to gargle once it is lukewarm.

If a fever lasts more than three days, you struggle to breathe or the cough does not ease after two weeks, call your doctor.
