Care of dry skin: the herbal pharmacy's answer

Published 1 min read

Care of dry skin

Customer's question

The skin on my face and hands has been dry and irritated all winter. Which ointment is the right one?

The pharmacist's answer

Dry skin is often a consequence of the surroundings: dry air in heated rooms, hot showers, soap that takes off too much.

For the care of dry, parched skin we offer Comfrey Ointment with an extract of comfrey root, which encourages the renewal of the skin, and Calendula Ointment for red and sensitive skin. Both are cosmetic products, not medicines.

Apply to skin that is still damp, straight after washing; then the ointment holds the moisture in, instead of covering over dry skin.

With a rash, itching that will not ease, or changes that are spreading, see a dermatologist.
