Stična Monastic Garden Centre
Stična monastery’s rich economic history also includes horticulture. After World War II when its economic power was reduced, the monastery was forced to support itself with horticulture and also sell produce.
The monastery expanded this activity through the Monastic Garden Centre at the turn of the millennium. It has become one of the largest and most modern gardening centres in Slovenia where more than 250,000 high-quality decorative plants are grown each year. Trumpets, balcony flowers, pelargoniums, water lilies, annual plants, pansies… bloom in a covered area of more than 3,000 m2 every year. We like to pamper our guests with flowers of an extremely high quality, a wide assortment, new plant species, and useful advice.
We also provide for our satisfied customers’ self-supply with home-grown vegetable seedling. We take pride in our home-grown salad plants, fruiting vegetables, brassicas, herbs and aromatic plants without the use of harmful phytopharmaceuticals.
We always have indoor plants in stock for your home or office. To ensure an even more varied product mix, we offer trendy flower pots, earth substrates, fertilisers, decorative bark, and the like.
